If you're a shopaholic like me I bet you have receipts all over your home whether it be in your purse, trash etc. What if I told you that you can turn those receipts into money? Would you save them? I know I would!

Receipt Hog is an app that's accessible to anyone through the App Store for Apple and Play Store for Android. It's an easy way to make effortless money. You get points for every receipt and you can later turn those points into money! In this blog I will explain step by step on how to use it. I will post a youtube tutorial and demonstrate it step by step stay tunned!

Before I explain how to use it and make the most out of it I will first share the rules I think are the most important to remember.

1. Receipts can't be more than two weeks old

2. Receipt Hog takes all receipts like gas stations, stores and more! They seriously take all receipts! (At least they claim they do, so far they've taken all of mine but they don't reward Goodwill receipts)

3. You can makeup up to 100 points per week from submitting receipts. Each receipt has different values. After you reach 100 points per week instead of giving you points based on value they either give you 5 points no matter the value or spins and an entry.

Other than those two let's get into how it works.

Step 1: Make an account to login, I don't remember how I made mine but I believe you might be able to login with Facebook, Google or just make an account.

Step 2: Answer some questions about you and your household! You get points for those too!

Step 3: After that you're all set however if you go and verify your email you get points. If you connect your Amazon account you get points for doing so and also get points for every Amazon order!

Step 4: In this step all you need is receipts but remember they can't be more than two weeks old. To snap a picture of the receipt you go to the camera Icon and start taking pictures. Make sure to keep the device flat. It won't let you take a picture until the device is flat. You can take multiple pictures. If the receipt is really long take several close up pictures. (They will explain this more in detail in the app)

Step 5: After you take a picture, tap done and rate your experience from the place you got the receipt by simply choosing how many stars to give them and then tap submit.

Step 6: After step 5 your receipt will start processing and from there you just have to wait. Some receipts process in seconds. The better the picture quality the faster you get your points.

Each receipt has different values. If you don't get points you can get spins or an entry. A spin is for their slot machine and you can win coins there if you're lucky and even gift cards!

The entry is for sweepstakes they have, you're automatically entered and if you win anything you will be notified.

There are many rewards available like a Starbucks gift card or Amazon. They can also send it through PayPal or give you a Visa which is digital but if they take a small portion of the money from it to cover shipping, they can ship it.

I've only redeemed a $25 dollar visa and it takes around 7 days for you to get it in your email.

Every 1,000 points is $5 dollars.

Every 2,900 are $15 dollars.

Every 4,300 are $25 dollars

Every 6,500 are $40 dollars.

You can choose when to redeem your points. You can continue to accumulate them or redeem them. It's that simple! They also feature surveys every so often that can give you points and sometimes instead of rating the place who's receipt you got they may ask a quick survey question.
